Day 1: Cochin
Begin your tour
Welcome to your "Beauty of Kerala" Tour.
Vardhman's representative
will meet & greet you & then transfer to your hotel. Relax for the remaining
part of the day.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Enjoy a live performance of Kathakali
dance.

Day 2: Cochin
This morning
after breakfast proceed on a full day city tour of Kochi. Visit Fort Kochi beach,
Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace or 'Dutch Palace' & the Chinese Fishing
Nets.
In the evening enjoy Motor Boat Ride at Cochin Harbour and thereafter
evening free to walk around the beach.

Day 3:
Cochin- Periyar/Thekkady
This morning after breakfast drive to Periyar.
On the way to Periyar you will witness the vast plantations of Pepper, Cardamom,
Coffee, Tea and some spectacular views of mist-laden valleys. Reach & check
- In at your hotel.
The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary is spread across
780 sq km, of which 360 sq km is thick evergreen forest; this sanctuary was declared
a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife and
scenic beauty, the Reserve attracts visitors all over the world and is one of
the world's most fascinating natural wildlife. Further, the splendid artificial
lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm
of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique
experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on
the lake. The greatest attraction of Periyar, however are the herds of wild elephants
that come down to the play in the lake. This afternoon enjoy boat ride and experience

Day 4: Periyar/Thekkady
This morning after breakfast explore the nature at its best in Periyar. Visit
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: You can go on a boat
safari in Lake Periyar-a great way to make a quick tour of the vast reserve and
sanctuary, or try a half- or full-day trek, with our naturalist pointing out some
spectacular flora and fauna.
Visit a spice or rubber plantation, to see how
pepper is harvested.

Day 5: Periyar/Thekkady
- Kumarakom
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Kumarakom.
Kumarakom is an enchanting backwater destination to visit. On arrival at Kumarakom
you will be transferred to your hotel. Later visit the Kavanar bird sanctuary
and farms, experience organic farming and fish cultivation. At the fourteen-acre
bird sanctuary one can glimpse many a rare bird some of which, sadly, may not
be around forever.
Enjoy the sun set cruise thereafter return to hotel.

Day 6: Kumarakom - Alleppey
This morning
after breakfast transfer to houseboat to enjoy the backwaters of Kumarakom &
Alleppey. Alleppey popularly referred to as 'Venice of the East'. Cruising in
Spice Coast will be a unique experience in your life. No tourist can go away from
Alappuzha without taking a cruise along the backwaters in a traditional houseboat.
The houseboats complete with a well furnished bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom.
There are drivers and a cook on board. On the houseboat you can observe the everyday
life of locals, pick up toddy (a mild alcoholic drink made from coconut sap),
dig into grilled prawns and indulge in bird watching. Enjoy dinner on board.

Day 7: Alleppey - Mararikulam
This morning
after breakfast drive to Marai. Marari originates from " Mararikulam ",
one of the local fishing villages, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred
years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in
the daily catch. Marari offers endless miles of superb sand beaches backed by
swaying palms, virgin territory where you can experience the local charm and traditional
Kerala Hospitality at its best.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: In Marari do nothing
on the beach, take long walks or bicycle rides OR take regular cookery classes
so you can learn and enjoy Kerala cuisine even when you go back home OR Ayurvedic
massages and Yoga.

Day 8: Mararikulam- Cochin
On day 8 of your tour transfer to Cochin airport/railway station to catch
flight/train for your onward destination with sweet and unforgettable memories
of your tour escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
