Your day to day itinerary Day 1: Trivandrum-Kovalam Begin your tour Arrive into Trivandrum airport/railway station Welcome to Vardhman's "Kerala with Taj Mahal & Tigers" Vardhman's representative will meet & greet you and then drive towards Kovalam. Reach and check into your hotel. Freshen up and then proceed for the sightseeing of Trivandrum city. Visit the ancient temple of Sri Padmanabhaswamy is one of the major attractions in the city of Thiruvananthapuram. Napier Museum was built in 1880 and shows a harmonious blending of Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles. Sri Chitra Art Gallery has a good collection Tanjore, Mughal, and Rajput schools of art. The Zoo in Thiruvananthapuram has many shady and delightful walks. Overnight: Hotel Day 2: Kovalam-Kanyakumari-Kovalam Full day Excursion to Kanyakumari Kanyakumari is the confluence of three seas - Bay of Bengal, Arabian Ocean & Indian Ocean. It is an important pilgrim centre of India is famous for Amman Temple - a symbol of unity and sanctity dedicated to the virgin goddess, Kanyakumari. To its South East lies the famous Vivekananda rock memorial, a blend of all architectural styles of India. Later in evening drive back to Kovalam to stay overnight in the hotel. Overnight: Hotel Day 3: Kollam-Alleppey On the day 3 of your tour drive from Thekkady, to Kerala's traditional houseboat for Alleppey, which is a fabulous way to explore the fascinating beauty of the backwaters? Reach Alleppey and check into your houseboat. Cruise along the backwaters, passing through paddy fields, villages, market etc. The cruise is through "Kuttanad" literally meaning the land which is lower than the sea level but is kept intact by its bounds and dikes. It is the `rice bowl' of Kerala. The rice fields are very beautiful and this lush land and surrounds governs the placid way of life of the people who live on the backwaters. Overnight: Houseboat Day 4: Alleppey-Thekkady/Periyar The houseboat comes to halt in Alleppey. Disembark the boat after breakfast and drive to Thekkady. A scenic journey past mist capped mountains, spice plantations and open grasslands lined with spectacular water falls & delightful trekking trails form the access to your hide way here. On arrival check into hotel, refresh yourself & be relaxed for the remaining part of the day. Later, in the evening visit Kumily spice market to see and buy spices. Overnight: Hotel Day 5: Thekkady/Periyar Full day free to explore Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: You can enjoy Elephant ride, Jeep Safari, Bamboo rafting and Nature walk at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Overnight: Hotel Day 6: Thekkady/Periyar-Munnar This Munnar after breakfast drive to Munnar. Reach and check into your hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day. Munnar set amid Southern India's most dramatic mountain scenery and the combination of craggy Peaks, Manicured Tea Estates .Crisp mountain air makes Munnar a delightful alternative to the better known hill stations of Tamilnadu. Reach and check into your hotel. At Munnar you are free to explore its beauty of nature. Overnight: Hotel Day 7: Munnar City tour of Munnar. Visit the following places of tourist interest: Anaimudi Peak Visit the Anaimudi Peak, which is considered to be the highest peak in southern India. One can set up tents for camping and trekking at an altitude of about 2700 meters and enjoy the tranquil mountain atmosphere. It is a feast for nature lovers and enthusiasts. This peak provides the ultimate high and holiday experience. Echo Point Echo point gets its name from the natural occurrence of echo here. It is a popular place in Munnar and many people come here to listen to their echoes. It is believed that if you can hear your echo calling back at you three times, it is a sign of good luck. Kundala The charming town of Kundala is located at a distance of about 20 kilometers from Munnar. This town is famous for the Golf Course, which is owned by the famous Tata Tea Ltd. Company. Kuthumkal Waterfalls An important tourist attraction at Munnar is the Kuthumkal Waterfalls. The scenic waterfalls, falling from spectacular heights and creating a foggy atmosphere is something worth watching out for. Malankara Reservoir A popular tourist attraction in Munnar is the Malankara Reservoir. It is situated on the Thodupuzha - Moolavattom road, this reservoir gives plenty of opportunities for boating and fishing. Observatory Hills The Observatory Hill is located at Nedumkandam and gets its name from the fact that one can spot many planets, constellations and other celestial matter from this point. The place is blessed with a highly clear sky, which makes it a delight for night sky watchers. Power House Waterfalls The Power House Waterfalls are located near Munnar at a distance of about 18 kilometers. The water falls from a height of 2000 meters and has many steep rocks that give it a spectacular look. It is an ideal to unwind and feel at one with nature. Rajamala This place is the natural habitat of a rare animal known as the Nilgiri Tahr. The place is located around 2700 meters above sea level and makes an ideal spot to relax and rejuvenate oneself. Overnight: Hotel Day 8: Munnar-Cochin This morning after a leisurely breakfast drive to the Commercial capital of Kerala - Cochin. Reach and check into your hotel. Relax for the rest of the day. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Attend Kathkali Dance Show in the evening. Overnight: Hotel Day 9: Cochin Morning City tour Visit the Dutch palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Church. Also visit the Hill Palace Museum which displays articles of archeological importance. Rest of the day free to explore the city at your own. Overnight: Hotel Day 10: Cochin -Delhi by flight This morning after breakfast transfer to Cochin airport to board flight for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative to your hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Attend Sound & Light Show at Red Fort in the evening. Overnight: Hotel Day 11: Delhi This morning after a leisurely breakfast, proceed for the city tour of Old & New Delhi. Visit Qutab Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lakshminarayan Temple, a modern Hindu Temple, Parliament House, Government Secretarial Building and Connaught place, the shopping centre of New Delhi. Visit Red Fort, built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid, one of the largest Mosque of India, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana, the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni Chowk, shopping centre of Old Delhi. Overnight: Hotel Day 12: Delhi - Agra This morning After breakfast drive to the 'Romantic city of Taj Mahal' -Agra (closed on every Friday). Visit Taj Mahal, Red fort & Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula. Later you will visit a marble gallery - the flagship store in Agra which offers an excellent range of white marble, fashionable wear & exotic wooden articles, truly a one stop shop! OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Attend Taj -e-Mohhabat Show in the evening. Overnight: Hotel Day 13: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Ranthambore Today you drive to the former capital city of Emperor Akbar - Fatehpur Sikri, your exciting day begins with a tour, starting with a visit to Fatehpur Sikri. Then continue onward to Ranthambore wildlife Sanctuary. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. Relax for the rest of the day. Overnight: Hotel Day 14: Ranthambore Full day free to explore Ranthambore National Park. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Canter and Jeep Safar inside the National Park. Overnight: Hotel Day 15: Ranthambore - Jaipur Today morning after breakfast proceed to the Pink City - Jaipur. Reach Jaipur by the afternoon and check into your hotel. Relax for the rest of the day. OPTIONAL TOUR: Visit to Choki Dhani Village- An Ethnic village resort in the evening. Overnight: Hotel Day 16: Jaipur This morning after breakfast proceed on a city tour. Today you will experience the wonders of this magical pink city, as you proceed on a tour of Amber fort. Later visit the Jagmandir or the Hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Maharaja's City Palace and the Observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds and through the rose pink residential and business areas of Jaipur. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Enjoy Elephant Safari to the Amer/Amber Fort.
