Your day to day itinerary
Day 1: Chennai
Begin your tour
Land Chennai airport/railway station
Welcome to your "Short tour of Tamilnadu & Kerala"
Vardhman's representative will meet & greet you & then will transfer you to your hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day.

Day 2: Chennai
On day 2 of your tour proceed for the sightseeing of the city. Visit museum to see the Art and Bronze Gallery. (Closed on Fridays and Public holidays). Drive through the Flower and Fruit market, High court, Fort Museum, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and Snake Park.

Day 3: Chennai-Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram
Today you drive to Mahabalipuram after visiting Kanchipuram on the way.
Enroute Visit Kanchipuram
Kanchipuram is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks.
Reach Mahabalipuram and check into your hotel for an overnight rest.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram-Pondicherry
Morning visit Mahabalipuram. Visit Five Rathas, Shore Temple, Arjuna's Penance, Mandapams, Krishna Mandapam.
Later drive to Pondicherry. Reach and check into your hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day.

Day 5: Pondicherry-Chennai-Madurai by Overnight train
Morning visit Pondicherry. Places of interest are Sri Aurobindo Ashram Auroville - the brain child of the mother and designed by French Architect roger Anger, AuroVille was meant to be an experiment in international living where man and women could live in peace and progress harmony with each other above all creeds.
After sightseeing drive back to Chennai and transfer to Tambaram railway station to board +PANDIAN EXP train number 2637 at 2210hrs.

Day 6: Madurai
Reach Madurai Junction railway station at 0645hrs and you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Freshen up and then proceed on a city tour of Madurai.
Visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering gopurams - (rising high above the surrounding countryside). Later, visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious building in the Indo-Saracenic style, famous for the stucco work on its domes and arches.

Day 7: Madurai-Coimbatore by overnight train -Ooty
Day trip to Rameshwaram.
Visit Ramanathaswamy Temple , Kothandaraswamy Temple & Dhanushkodi, Adam's Bridge, Dhanushkodi beach, Gandhamadana Parvatam.
After sightseeing of Rameshwaram drive back to Madurai Junction railway station to board COIMBATORE EXP train number 6609 at 0040hrs.

Day 8: Coimbatore -Ooty
Reach Coimbatore Junction railway station at 0730hrs and you will be met by our representative. Then drive directly to Ooty. Reach and check into your hotel. Freshen up and then proceed to Conoor to visit Tea Gardens, Sim's Park and Dolphin's Nose. Later visit various film shooting points in Ooty. Also visit the Ooty lake where boating is a favourite pastime and Doddabetta peak, the highest point in the Nilgiri mountains (2623 meters high).

Day 9: Ooty-Munnar
This morning drive toward the fascinating hill station-Munnar. Reach and check into your hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day.

Day 10: Munnar
This morning after breakfast proceed on a City tour of Munnar.
Visit Eravikulam National Park to see rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr, Old Munnar Town, Dairy Farm and the Mattupetty Dam. Enjoy the rest of the day on your own. Visit the bazaars, plantations etc

Day 11: Munnar-Alleppey
On day 11 of your tour drive to Alleppey and check-in your houseboat. Alleppey has often been referred to as the Venice of the East by travelers from around the world. A round about tour, in which the cruise takes you through the clear waters of the prominent Punnamada Lake, the Nehru Trophy snake boat race. You can visit the 400 year old Champakulam church one of the seven churches established by St. Thomas. The Chavara Bhavan, located 6 km from Alleppey, is another interesting place to visit. The Blessed Karaoke Elias Chavara, the Chavara Bhavanhouse 250 year old beacon of light preserved intact in its original and primitive from, overnight stay at Houseboat. All meals on board.

Day 12: Alleppey-Cochin-Chennai by overnight train
The houseboat comes to halt at Alleppey. Disembark the houseboat after a leisurely breakfast and then drive to Cochin. Reach Cochin visit few places of tourist interest there. Visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Church of St. Francis, and the Bolghatty Palace.
Then transfer to Ernakulam Town railway station to board +TVC CHENNAI EXP train number 2696 at 2150hrs.
Overnight: On Board train
Day 13: Chennai
Reach Chennai Central railway station at 0950hrs and then you will be transferred to Chennai airport to board flight for onward journeys with sweet and pleasant memories of your tour escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
