Your day to day itinerary Day 01: Leh Begin your tour Land Leh airport Welcome to Vardhman's "Ladakh Extension Tour" Vardhman's representative will meet & greet you & then transfer you to your hotel. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize. In the evening visit to Leh Market & Shanti Stupa. Overnight: Hotel Day 02: Leh On day 2 of your tour visit Spituk monastery, Built in 15th century during the reign of Grags 'bum-lde, these new Gelug-pa monastery was built like fortress on the summit of crags and also visit Hall of Fame near Leh is worth a visit for every citizen. It is a glorious museum constructed by Indian army. Also visit Sankar Gompa, located at a distance of approximately 3 km from the town of Leh, Leh Palace is one of the most captivating architectural ruins that attract the attention of the tourists almost immediately with its majestic setting at the edge of the Namgyal hill and overlooking the town and at once looks like a reminiscent of Lhasa's Potala Palace. Overnight: Hotel Day 03: Leh - Uleytokpo On day 3 of your tour drive towards Leh - Kargil highway to Lamayuru enroute visiting Kali Mata Temple, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, this was built by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev. A drive of another 4 km took us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road the vehicle slides up & further Driving through a picturesque landscape reached the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar river 4 km before Nimmu village , and later visit Likir gompa situated atop a windy cliff top overlooking the beautiful village of Likir. Basgo is certainly the m ost impressive of Ladakhi citadels despite its ruined state. Then drive and cross the River Indus and reach Alchi, Ladakh's most loved monastery. After visiting above monasteries drive to Uleytokpo. Reach & check-In your Camp. Overnight: Camp Day 04: Uleytokpo - Dha Hanu Drive to Dha Hanu enroute visiting Lamayuru, Belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat). Dha-Hanu is situated at an altitude of 10000 ft. It is the Land of the "Drok -Pa "an Indo Aryan race. Only two villages Dha & Biama are open for tourists. Their cultural and religious practices are totally different from the rest of Ladakh. Overnight: Guest House/Tented accommodation Day 05: Dha Hanu - Leh After breakfast drive back to Leh enroute visiting Ridzong, Ridzong Gompa is known as the paradise for Meditation. Guru Padma Sambhava is believed to editated here for years. Reach & Check -In at the Hotel for overnight rest. Overnight: Hotel Day 06: Leh - Chumathang - Tsomoriri After breakfast drive to Tsomoriri enroute stop at Chumathang, famous for medical hot spring and people visit to this place for medical bath. After a short halt drive to Tsomoriri, A beautiful mountain bou nded expanse of water, around 240 Kms. from Leh in Rupsho Valley. The Lake is located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. Upon arrival check in at the camp. Overnight: Camp Day 07: Tsomoriri In the morning visit Korzok village with its houses and its gompa appearing like a mirage. The few barley fields at Korzok must be among the highest cultivation in the world. In the afternoon visit around the Lake. Overnight: Camp Day 08: Tsomoriri - Tanglangla- Leh On day 8 of your tour proceed towards Tsokar Lake. After visiting the Tsokar Lake drive towards Leh enroute Stoping at Tanglangla pass, the second highest motorable pass in the world at 5350 m. Overnight: Hotel Day 09: Leh - Pangong Lake After a leisurely breakfast leave for Pangong Lake enroute visiting Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh & Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village and carryon further towards Pangong through Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border beten India and China. A few years back the government decided to open it to tourists though the lake and its surrounding is under army surveillance. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. Overnight: Hotel/Camp Day 10: Pangong Lake - Leh Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of lake and later drive back to leh enroute visiting Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Drive further to Leh. Reach & check-In at your hotel for overnight rest. Overnight: Hotel Day 11: Leh - Nubra Valley On day 11 of your tour drive to Nubra Valley leads through KHARDUNG-LA-PASS (the highest motorable road in the world) at 18,390 ft, around 39kms from Leh. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flors. It is situated to the North of Ladakh beten the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Reach Sumur or Hunder by afternoon and rest of the day at leisure to explore beautiful village of Sumur. Overnight: Camp Day 12: Hunder (Nubra Valley) After your breakfast at the camp, visit the Sand Dunes to enjoy a camel safari (at your own cost). In second half of the day enjoys a visit to Diskit monastery perched on the rock overhanging the steam which is the source of the energy used by the mills. The monastery is rich, full of tangkas (skill paintings) and above all of magnificent giant statues, effigie s of the Buddha and old mural paintings in which can be noted a multitude of influences. Overnight: Camp Day 13: Nubra Valley - Leh After your breakfast at the camp drive to Leh by same route over Khardung La. Afternoon rest and relax or take a walk to the local market. Overnight: Hotel Day 14: Leh This morning transfer to Leh airport to board flight for your onward destination with sweet and unforgettable memories of your tour escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
