Your itinerary day by day Day 1: Delhi Begin your tour Land Delhi railway station/airport Welcome to Vardhman's "Special Tiger Tour" Vardhman's representative will meet & greet you & then transfer you to your hotel. Fresh up & then visit Qutab Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lakshminarayan Temple, a modern Hindu Temple, Parliament House, Government Secretarial Building and Connaught place, the shopping centre of New Delhi Overnight: Hotel Day 2: Delhi-Kolkata by flight - Sunderban On arrival at Dum Dum airport, you will be received and transferred to Sunakhali by our representative. On arrival drive straight to the embarkation jetty for going to Sunderbans. The boat ride will take around 2 ½ hrs. On arrival transfer to your camp. Evening boat excursion in the Sunderbans. Overnight: Camp Day 3: Sunderban Visit Sunderbans. Spend the day cruising through the creeks looking for the seven species of kingfishers, including the Brown-winged, Collared and Ruddy Kingfisher. SUNDERBANS, UNESCO World Heritage Site: Formerly SUNDERBUNDS, the dense forest of the Sunderbans is one of the largest mangroves in the world and the only kind with tiger habitat. The forest covers an area of about 10,000 sq.km. of mangrove forest and water (40% of which lies in West Bengal, India and the rest in Bangladesh). The Sunderbans are a part of the world's largest delta formed by the rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna. Sunderban got its name from the predominance of the tree species, locally known as Sundari, because of its elegant look. The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO inscribed the Sundarbans in the world Heritage list by a decision taken in its 21st session in December 6, 1997. Tigers reign in the land and Crocodile over the waters along with Sharks. The Tiger Reserve holding more tigers than any other tiger reserve and as per latest census the tiger population is 287. Overnight: Camp Day 4: Sunderban The day is spend cruising through the creeks of the Reserve and in the villages looking for Loten's, Purple and Purple-rumped Sunbirds etc. Overnight : Camp Day 5: Sunderban- Kolkatta-Gondia by train Early morning transfer to Howrah Railway station in Kolkatta to board overnight train to Gondia. Overnight: On board train Day 6: Gondia - Kanha National Park Reach Gondia Railway station in the morning. Vardhman representative will meet you & then drive straight to Kanha National park. Check-In at the hotel upon arrival. Relax for the remaining part of the day. Overnight: Hotel Day 7: Kanha National Park Full day free to visit Kanha National Park. Overnight: Hotel Day 8: Kanha National park - Bandhavgarh National Park This morning after breakfast drive to Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh. Check into your hotel upon arrival. Overnight: Hotel Day 9: Bandhavgarh National Park Bandhavgarh National Park: It is one of the most exotic wildlife destinations in India. An erstwhile game reserve of the royal family of Rewa, Bandhavgarh got recognition as a wildlife park in 1968, when the Maharaja of Rewa bequeathed the park to the Government. Initially the park stretched to 105.40-sq-kms in area, with 25 resident tigers forming its prime attraction. Visiting Bandhavgarh and trailing tigers on Elephant Safari or cutting through the jungle tracks in a jeep (Jeep Safari) promises to give you one of the best wildlife experiences in the state. Full day free to explore Bandhavgarh National park. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: You can enjoy Elephant Safari & Jeep Safari. Overnight: Hotel Day 10: Bandhavgarh National Park - Agra by overnight train Morning free to visit the Bandhavgarh National Park. Afternoon transfer to Umarai Railway station to board overnight train to Agra. Overnight: On board train Day 11: Agra-Bharatpur Reach Agra Cantt railway station in the morning. Vardhman representative will meet you & transfer you to your hotel [for fresh up, 1-2 hours]. Then visit Taj Mahal (Closed on every Friday) & Agra Fort. In the afternoon depart for Bharatpur. Upon arrival, check into your hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight: Hotel Day 12: Bharatpur Morning leave for Full day birding in the Sanctuary. Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary: Originally a duck shooting preserve of Maharaja Suraj Mull of Bharatpur, the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary of Rajasthan was declared a national park in 1982. Later, in 1985, it was listed as a World Heritage site by Unesco. At present, the Rajasthan Keoladeo Ghana National Park serves as one of the chief breeding and feed grounds for the birds around the world. The Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary, of Rajasthan, houses approximately 300 species of birds. Amongst them, the most prominent ones are Painted Storks, Open and Spoon Bills, Egrets, Cormorants, White Ibis, Jacanas, While Harriers, Fishing Eagles, Pied Kingfisher, etc. However, the most awaited species of birds is the Siberian Crane. Apart from Iran, India is the only place where this bird migrates in winter. Bharatpur sanctuary remains open throughout the year from sunrise to sunset. Overnight: Hotel Day 13: Bharatpur- Ranthambore Morning birding in the Sanctuary. Later take train for Sawai Madhopur. On arrival transfer to your hotel. Afternoon jungle excursion in the Ranthambhore National Park. Ranthambore National Park: One of the best places to witness the rich wildlife of India. Situated at the junction of the Aravalli and Vindhya hill range, the park is spread over an area of approximately 400 sq km. As far as the origin of the park is concerned, it was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957. Later, in 1981, it was given the status of a National Park. The Ranthambhore Wildlife Sanctuary of India remains open every year from October to Mid June. Overnight: Hotel Day 14: Ranthambore Full day exploration in Ranthambhore National Park. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: You can enjoy Elephant Safari, Van/Jeep Safari. Overnight: Hotel Day 15: Ranthambore-Jaipur After breakfast leaves for the beautiful Pink City- Jaipur. Check into your pre-booked hotel upon arrival. OPTIONAL TOUR: Visit to Choki Dhani Village- An Ethnic village resort in the evening. Overnight: Hotel Day 16: Jaipur- Delhi This morning you will experience the wonders of this magical pink city, as you proceed on a tour of Amber fort. Later visit the Jagmandir or the Hall of victory glittering with mirrors, Maharaja's City Palace and the Observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds and through the rose pink residential and business areas of Jaipur. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Enjoy Elephant Safari to the Amer/Amber Fort. In the noon drive back to Delhi. Arrive Delhi & transfer to the hotel for overnight stay. Overnight: Hotel Day 17: Delhi- Corbett National Park On the day 17 of your tour drive to Corbett National Park. On the way visit Ramnagar and look for the fabulous IBISBILL amongst the riverside boulders. Later proceed for an afternoon to KOSI riverbanks. Rest of the day at leisure. Jim Corbett National Park used to be just another Himalayan forest until in 1936 it was demarcated as a reserve area by the British Government. Jim Corbett Park is spread over 520 sq kms and is covered with huge stretches of Savannah type grasslands and Sal forests. In 1957 this place was renamed as Jim Corbett National Park from Hailey national Park. It was declared as an almost exclusive Tiger Reserve on 1st April 1973 with the help of World Wildlife Fund. Since the place is situated on the lower Himalayan belt of vegetation, it is an eco-tourism spot too. Overnight: Hotel/Camp Day 18: Corbett National Park Full day free to explore Corbett National Park.
