However, Lord Shiva was reluctant. The water god <strong>Varuna<\/strong>, through divine trickery, distracted Ravana. As a result, Ravana accidentally set Shiva down at Deoghar, breaking his vow. The flower-garlanded idol of Shiva is visible to devotees only during the evening bathing ceremony. The path to Tapovan involves narrow cave crossings and steep ascents \u2014 truly a divine experience. At the <strong>southeast corner<\/strong>, there are two sacred kunds: <strong>Shiva Kund and Shul Kund<\/strong>. It is believed that the sage <strong>Valmiki meditated here<\/strong>, and <strong>Sita Devi<\/strong> also bathed in these waters. The deity is <strong>Chaturbhuja<\/strong> (four-armed), seated on a lion and slaying <strong>Karingasura<\/strong> as <strong>Jagadhatri<\/strong>. Her presence is considered both beautiful and potent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, in 1360 BS, the <strong>Nabadurga Temple<\/strong> was built at <strong>Bompas Town<\/strong>, 3 km from the Clock Tower.
