Day 01 : Siliguri
Begin your Tour. Arrive into Bagdogra AirportWelcome to Vardhman's "Sikkim
Tour"! On arrival in Bagdogra, you will be met and transferred to
Siliguri by Vardhman's representative to your hotel. Relax for a remaining
part of the day. Siliguri, one of the magnificent city of West Bengal.
Relax for a while and later proceed on a city tour of Siliguri.Visit Madhuban
Park;Mahananda Weir wild life Sanctuary, Sukna; Salugara Monastery;Teesta
view Point, Sevoke;Kalchakra Monastery on the way also visit Tea Gardens.Mahananda

The Teesta river is the life line of the Sikkim and Darjeeling Himalayas.

Salugara Monastery
His eminence Kalu Rinpoche constructed a one hundred foot stupa, which
contains five types of relics and is an object of veneration which will
bring liberation to any one who sees it.

Day 02 : Siliguri -Darjeeling
This morning after breakfast transfer to Railway Station to board
the Toy Train for Darjeeling. Nestled among the rolling mountains with
the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling
fondly called "Queen of the Hills", provides a perfect gateway
for those seeking to be in harmony with natureReach Darjeeling at about
6 pm and you will be transfer to Hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight:

Day 03 : Darjeeling
Full Day sight seeing of Darjeeling.Visit Tiger Hills,Batasia Loop,Lloyds
Botanical Garden,Dhirdham Temple,The Shrubbery etc.
Tiger Hill
Situated at an altitude of 2590 metres (8482 ft.) and 13 kms from the
town, this spot has earned international fame for the magnificent view
of the sunrise over "Kanchenjunga" and the great Eastern Himalayan
Mountains. Even Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, is visible
from here. Batasia Loop
About 5 kms from Darjeeling, this Railway Loop is a marvellous feat
of engineering. It is fascinating to watch the toy train wind its way
round the loop. The War Memorial constructed in the memory of brave
sons of Darjeeling who died in different action since 1947, is worth
a visit. A glorious view of snowy peak and town can be seen from this
place. Lloyds Botanical Garden
A colourful garden situated just below the Market Motor Stand. It contains
a representative collection of Himalayan plants, flowers, orchids etc.
The green houses are well worth a visit.
Dhirdham Temple
Built in the style of Katmandu's Pashupatinath temple adds to the varied
religious architectural styles of Darjeeling. It is near the railway
station.
The Shrubbery
This beautiful garden is situated on the Jawahar Parbat behind Raj Bhawan.
A magnificent view of Kanchenjunga Range and Singla Valley can be enjoyed
from here.Later in the evening return to the hotel for breakfast.Overnight:

Day 04 : Darjeeling - Pemayangtse
Drive to Pemayangtse in the Western part of Sikkim. Pemayantse was
special because it was one meant only for ta-sang lamas
(pure monks). Believed to have been conceptualized and designed by the
pioneer of Buddhism in Sikkim, Lhatsun Chhembo, Pemayangste soon became
the nuclei of monasteries in Sikkim. To date, it is referred to as the
"premier monastery" of the State. Enroute visit the famous
Tukvar Tea Gardens along the riverside of Rangeet.
Upon arrival, check into hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the

Day 05 : Pemayangste - Yuksom-Pemayangste
Visit Pemayangtse Monastery after breakfast. The monastery contains
numerous antique idols and objects of worship and is filled with wall
paintings and sculptures. A stand-out feature of the Monastery is a
seven-tiered painted wooden structure on the top floor portraying the
Guru Rimpoches Heavenly Palace Santopalri which was
completed single handedly by the late Dungzin Rimpoche in a span of
five yearsIn the afternoon, visit Kheocheplari Lake & Yuksom,Nyingma
Dubdi Monastery. The name `Yuksom` means the meeting place of three
Lamas. Situated at an altitude of 1780 mt, the place is famous as the
starting place for mountaineering expeditions and treks to higher Kanchenjunga
ranges. Nyingma Dubdi Monastery
High above the town, prayer flags announce the site of the Nyingma Dubdi
monastery, built in 1701. From the end of the road at the hospital,
a path threads past water wheels and a small river and rises through
the forest to arrive at the dramatically situated Gompa, looking out
over Yoksum.
Kathok Lake
Kathok lake, a small scummy pond at the top end of town has nothing
of the pristine beauty of sister-lake, a small scummy pond at the top

but has views of the snow capped peaks in the distance.Later in the
evening drive back to Pemayangste to stay overnight in the hotel.Overnight:

Day 06 : Pemayangste -Gangtok
On the day 6 of your tour drive to Gangtok, the Capital town of
Sikkim via Rabongla and the famous tea gardens of Sikkim,Temi Tea Estate.
Rabongla: Its almost seven thousand feet elevation affects some chilliness
in the morning air, and the soggy fog and playful mist, a common morning
phenomena from late spring till early autumn, seems to harmoniously
blend with the terrain of this Himalayan idyll as if Mother Nature herself
had procreated such an arrangement. Temi Tea Estate:Temi Tea Garden
is the only tea estate existing in the state of Sikkim, India. The Temi
Tea Garden Estate produces one of the top quality teas in the international
tea market. The Temi Tea Garden Sikkim is spread out on a gentle hill
slope, emerging from the Tendong Hill and presents a spectacular view
for the surrounding villages. If you are inclined to know about the
process of tea making, then visit to the tea processing factory could
be very fruitful for you.

Day 07 : Gangtok - Enchey Monastery
This morning after breakfast proceed on a Cherry City tour of Gangtok.Visit
the Enchey Monastery , Cottage Industries along with visit to Research
Institute of Tibetology and the Do Drul Chorten Stupa. Also visit to
Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre, Kaygu Headquarters.Enchey Monastery: Enchey
Monastery is an ancient religious site of the Buddhists in Sikkim, India.
Located at a distance of 3 kms from Gangtok, Enchey Monastery is said
to have been erected on the spot blessed by Lama Druptab Karpo, who
was a great 'tantrik' master renowned for his flying powers. Dating
back to 200 years, Enchey Monastery belongs to the Nyingma sect of Tibetan
Buddhism.
Do Drul Chorten Stupa: Do Drul Chorten stupa at Dotapu Chorten, Deorali,
Gangtok was built by Trullshi Rinpoche, head of the Nyingma order of
Tibetan Buddhism in 1945. Inside this stupa, a complete set of Dorjee
Phurba, Kangyur relics (Holy Books) and other religious objects. Around
the stupa are 108 Mani Lhakor or prayer wheels. The stupa is surrounded
by Chorten Lakahang and Guru Lakhang, where two statues of Guru Rinpoche
are present.Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre: About 45 minutes drive from
Gangtok, 24 kms. away, is the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center, the seat
of the Kagyu order, one of the 4 major Tibetan Buddhist sects. Since
the late 1960's, after the arrival of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa,
the center houses some of the world's most unique religious scriptures
and religious art objects. Traditional in design, it is almost a replica
of the original Kagyu headquarters in Tibet. Rumtek monastery, a must
for every visitor, where one can find some of the worlds most unique
art objects , this place is the seat of the Kagyu order -- a close replica
of the original Kagyu in Tibet. Later in the evening return back to
the hotel in Gangtok for an overnight stay.Overnight: Hotel
Day 08 : Gangtok
This morning after breakfast, visit Phodong Monastery in the North
Sikkim highway and enroute also visit the Labrang Monastery.Phodong
Monastery: One of the six most important monasteries of Sikkim, Phodong
dates back to the early 18th century. However, the monastery that we
see today is not the original one and was rebuilt. Presently, it boasts
of being one of the most beautiful monasteries in the state and serves
as the residence of approximately 260 monks.The monastery also has a
rich collection of some ancient murals. The annual festival at Phodang
Gompa of India takes place on the 28th and 29th day of the tenth month
of the Tibetan Calendar (usually December). The celebrations of the
festival include the performance of religious dances by the monks. Labrang
Monastery: Labrang Monastery is one of the six great monasteries of
the Gelukpa (Yellow Hat) Sect. The monastery was founded in 1709 (the
forty-eighth year of the reign of Qing Emperor Kangxi) by the monk E'Ang
Zonghe, the first generation living Buddha, or Jiemuyang. It is Tibetan
Buddhism's most important monastery town outside Tibet itself.Return
to your hotel in the evening.
