Muktagiri Jain Tirth

Muktagiri Siddha Kshetra is situated in the lap of the ‘Satpuda’ Mountain range and it is surrounded by beautiful natural vegetation. It is ancient Siddha & Atishaya Kshetra located on border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in India. It comes under Bhainsdehi tehsil of Betul district or Baitul district in Madhya Pradesh. It’s another name is also ‘Mendhagiri’ or ‘ Medhrgiri’. There are 52 temples on the mountain, surrounding a beautiful waterfall. The waterfall is generally visible only when there is enough rainfall in the area. A lot of monkeys can be seen near the 10th Temple - Bhagwan Sheetalnath temple - near which the waterfall is located. The 10th Temple is called Medhagiri Temple is an ancient temple inside an ancient cave built in 10th century. The 1st Temple, 10th Temple, 26th Temple and 40th Temple are the main temples.

Day 1 Nagpur - Muktagiri

Begin your tour
Land Nagpur airport /railway station
Vardhman's representative will meet & greet you & then drive to Muktagiri - a Jain Pilgrimage centre. En-route visit Shukrawari temple & Ramtek temple – Shri Shantinath Jain temple & Panch Bal Yati Temple. Overnight Stay at Muktagiri Jain Dharamshala.

Day 2 Muktagiri

Morning visit 52 Muktagiri temples situated on the mountain & surrounded by a beautiful waterfall. The waterfall is generally visible only when there is enough rainfall in the area. The separate routes are made for ascending up and descending down the hill. The 10th temple of this Kshetra is known as Mendhagiri temple and 26th temple is called as the main temple. The 40th temple is dug in the lap of mountain and it is quite antique & beautiful. The temples of this Kshetra are generally antique & belong to 16th century.
Return back to Dharamshala for overnight rest.

Day 3 Muktagiri-Nagpur

This morning leave for Nagpur. En-route visit Bazar Gaon & Bhat Khuli temple.
The Bhat Khuli temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Adinath. The principal deity Bhagwan Adinath’s ancient miraculous idol, Black in color in cross legged seating posture. Villagers of Bhatkuli have same faith in this idol as Jains have. So this village is known as Bhatkuli Jain all over India.
Later in the evening we will transfer you to airport/railway station to board flight/train to back home with sweet & pleasant memories of your Jain Temple Tour escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
