Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Kathgodam to Gogina (Drive – 8 to 9 Hours | Altitude – 1,600m)

Your Namik Glacier Trek starts with an early morning pickup at 6:30 AM from Kathgodam Railway Station. From here, a shared Bolero takes you on a scenic drive through Bhimtal, Almora, and Bageshwar, covering around 180 km.

Enjoy the changing landscapes as you pass through lush green hills, flowing rivers, and quaint Kumaoni villages. By evening, you’ll reach Gogina Village, the starting point of your trekking journey.

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your trek leader and check into a comfortable homestay or campsite. After settling in, enjoy a delicious dinner while soaking in the peaceful mountain atmosphere. Later, your trek leader will conduct a briefing session, sharing important details about the upcoming trek days and safety guidelines.

Overnight stay at Gogina.

Day 2 Gogina to Namik Village (Trek – 4 km | Altitude – 2,100m)

After a relaxed breakfast, your trek starts around 9:00 AM from Gogina. The trail gradually ascends towards Namik Village, offering a pleasant 4 km walk through scenic mountain paths surrounded by lush greenery and charming local homes.

As you trek, enjoy the glimpses of traditional Himalayan life — villagers working in fields, stone houses, and children playing along the trail. By noon, you’ll arrive at Namik Village, where your campsite or homestay will be ready.

After a freshly prepared lunch, spend the afternoon exploring the village. Known for its rich cultural heritage and peaceful environment, Namik gives you a true taste of Himalayan hospitality.

Day 3 Namik Village to Thala Bugyal (Trek – 8 km | Altitude – 3,200m)

Today’s trek is a beautiful journey through forests and meadows. After breakfast, you’ll begin your 8 km trek from Namik Village towards Thala Bugyal. The trail winds through dense oak and rhododendron forests, crossing wooden bridges and sparkling mountain streams along the way.

As you gain altitude, the scenery changes from thick forests to open grassy slopes. When you reach Thala Bugyal, a stunning alpine meadow, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Kafni Glacier range and the majestic Nanda Kot Peak.

The route takes you through pristine alpine terrain, surrounded by towering peaks, crystal-clear streams, and serene high-altitude lakes. Carry a packed lunch to enjoy amidst nature, while soaking in the breathtaking views of snow-covered landscapes and glacial formations.

Midway, take a refreshing break at Ranthan Top, one of the most picturesque points of the trek. From here, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks, including the Panchachuli range and the surrounding valleys.

After spending some time soaking in the views, continue your descent towards Chofu or Thal Top, where your campsite will be set up for the night.
