Passing through Khardung La at 18380 feet, which is the highest motorable road in the world, the Nubra Valley Trek breaks open the rich and undulated topography that was once a trade route between India, Tibet and Central Asia. It was an important stage for caravans following the Silk Road, which where swapping their mules for the famous camels of Bactriane. It is one of the moderate to challenging treks in Ladakh region that covers bits and bytes of ancient colours spraying out from the steep and barren walls, remote and secluded villages and gompas.
The major attractions on this trek in Ladakh region are the Shey Gompa, which is approximately 15 kilometers away from Leh, Thikshey Gompa, which is approximately 17 kilometers away from Leh and Hemis, which is 45 kms away from Leh and one of the popular monasteries in Ladakh region. It also reaches the popular Kanor Monastery. Further the journey delves the unwritten lore of a culture sequestered within the barren topography. One can explore the remote villages like the Khardung, Khalser, Agyam, Khalsar, Tirit, Lukung, Tegar , Sumur and Deskit.
Being one of the popular trekking trails in the Ladakh region the Nubra Valley Trek fetches in several trekkers from different parts of the world. Further the river Nubra is a major tributary of the Shyok river that flows parallel to the Indus on the northern side of the Ladakh range and thus brings forth the colourful hues alongside dotted with rich vegetation and orchids. The Nubra Valley is often dubbed as -Valley of Flowers and during the peak season the valley blossoms out with varied colours. Nonetheless the Nubra Valley trek climbs up to several mountain passes namely Digar La at 6000 meters and Khardung La. Thus the trek by and large exhibits and dilates the true colours of the Ladakh region.

Fly from Delhi to Leh in the morning. Reach Ladakh and meet our representative. Check in the pre-booked hotel. Take rest and be acclimatized. Taking rest is important for being accustomed to the weather conditions at such elevation. Visit the local market of Leh in the evening. Overnight stay in the hotel.
ToDay, you will go for visiting some of the ancient monasteries in this area.
One such site is Shey Gompa. It is placed 15 kilometers from Leh. Shey used to be the summer capital of Ladakh kings. All around this place are positioned numerous Gompas and Stupas. Deldyan Namgyal erected this palace in 17th century. 12 meters-long Shakyamuni Buddha statuette positioned inside the Dresthang Gompa is the eminent attraction of Leh.
Positioned near Shey, Thiksey Gompa is placed at the distance of about 17 kilometers from Leh. This structure is said to be one of the most dazzling monasteries in Ladakh and it belongs to Gelukspa order.
Situated at about 45-kilometer distance south of Leh, Hemis Monastery is one of the most admired and largest monasteries in Ladakh. This monastery belongs to Drukpa Order. Founded in early 17th century, the monastery concealed in gorgeous valley is encircled by streams and fronted by large Mani Walls. Savor the relaxing overnight stay at hotel.
In the morning, drive to Kyagar Village after breakfast. You will transverse through the highest motor-able road in the world- Khardung La, on the way. Explore Samstanling Monastery and savor the village sightseeing. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Drive through Diskit Monastery to our first camp placed in Hundar. At Hundar, if possible, there will be arranged a short ride on Bactrian Camel.
Transverse through an incredible valley to shepherd's huts positioned at Skarchen (3800 meters) at the junction of 2 streams where we will set the camps and have overnight stay.
Crossing through the tiny hamlets of Dokyogma, Wacham and Drokyogma, reach Brok Yogma (4200 meters). Camp at Sniu Sumdo.
Trek up to the valley of Hundar and the Lasermo La. The camp we set will be at 4800 meters elevation.
Start early in the morning to cross Lasermo La (5420 meters) and dip down into Phyang La. Overnight stay at the camp at about 4500 meters of elevation.
Transverse down to Phyang where the jeeps will be waiting to take us to Leh. Arrive at the hotel and have overnight stay.
Reach the airport for catching the fascination flight across the Himalaya to Delhi. Transfer to international hotel after reaching Delhi in order to catch the onward flight.
