Kolkata (West Bengal)
The Pareshnath Jain Temple, popularly known as Calcutta Jain Temple, is one of the most spiritually powerful Jain shrines in India’s eastern region. Built in 1867 by Ray Badridas Bahadoor, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shitalnath, the 10th Tirthankara.
The temple architecture showcases glass mosaics, Belgian mirrors, ornamental marble work, and lush gardens, making it a stunning devotional site. Pilgrims often visit early morning for Mangal Aarti and Abhishek rituals, which create a serene spiritual aura.
Kolkata, formerly Calcutta, is a blend of heritage, culture, devotion, and vegetarian gastronomy. During this yatra, pilgrims not only seek spiritual blessings but also explore the city's rich colonial-era landmarks, peaceful ghats, and Jain-friendly local cuisine.
The tour is ideal for families, senior citizens, Jain followers, and spiritual seekers, with easy access and minimal travel distances.
Hotels provide well-equipped rooms, elevator access, and wheelchair support for senior pilgrims. Jain meals including khichdi, dal, rice, bhakhar, and fresh cooked sabzi can be arranged upon request.
Guests may also request early morning tea without milk or sugar (as per Jain routine) and timely food service matching puja schedule.
