Patna - Rajgir - Lachhuar - Kshatriyakund - Guniyajee - Pavapuri – Nalanda – Kundalpur - Rajjuwalika - Shikharji
Experience a soul-stirring journey through the most revered Jain pilgrimage sites — Rajgir and Sammed Shikharji — with Vardhman Vacations. This sacred tour is a perfect blend of devotion, history, and spirituality, designed for Jain devotees seeking inner peace and divine connection. Both destinations hold immense religious importance, as they are directly associated with the life and teachings of Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara, and other enlightened souls who attained Nirvana here.
Rajgir, located in Bihar, is one of the most ancient and spiritually charged towns in India. It is believed that Lord Mahavira and Lord Buddha spent a significant part of their lives here. For Jains, Rajgir is especially sacred as it houses many historical temples and caves where Lord Mahavira delivered sermons and practiced deep meditation. The Panch Pahar (five hills) — Vipulachal, Ratnagiri, Udaygiri, Songiri, and Vaibhavgiri — are dotted with Jain temples and shrines, each representing a sacred event in Jainism. The serene environment of Rajgir, surrounded by lush green valleys and ancient ruins, creates a perfect setting for spiritual reflection and peace.
Situated in Jharkhand, Sammed Shikharji (also known as Parasnath Hill) is the holiest pilgrimage site in Jainism. It is believed that twenty of the twenty-four Tirthankaras attained Moksha (liberation) on this sacred hill.
The mountain is adorned with Tonks (shrines) dedicated to each of these Tirthankaras, making it a spiritually powerful destination. Pilgrims undertake a sacred Parikrama (circumambulation) or trek that covers all the Tonks, which can take an entire day of devotion and endurance. The yatra is both a test of faith and a deeply purifying experience, often beginning before sunrise to witness the divine aura of the hill.
The journey from Rajgir to Sammed Shikharji takes pilgrims through various important Jain sites such as Pawapuri (where Lord Mahavira attained Nirvana), Lachhuar, and Kshatriyakund, his birthplace. Each stop on this route holds immense historical and religious value, making the pilgrimage not only a spiritual experience but also a profound exploration of Jain heritage. The peaceful chanting of mantras, temple rituals, and breathtaking views from the hilltops combine to create an atmosphere of eternal bliss and devotion.
Vardhman Vacations ensures that your pilgrimage is comfortable and well-organized. The tour includes stays at Dharamshalas or standard hotels, pure vegetarian meals, and transportation between all key sites. Pilgrims are guided with care, ensuring that they have ample time for prayers, darshan, and meditation at each temple. The entire itinerary is planned with devotion, convenience, and authenticity in mind, allowing travellers to focus purely on their spiritual journey.
The Rajgir & Sammed Shikharji Jain Yatra is more than just a tour — it’s a journey of faith, purity, and self-realization.
