Sittanavasal
Sittanavasal is a serene and historically rich Jain destination located in the Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu. Arrive at Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), the nearest major city with good rail and air connectivity. From here, proceed to Sittanavasal (approximately 1.5–2 hours by road).
Upon arrival, visit the famous Sittanavasal Cave. Explore the beautifully preserved frescoes and carvings that date back to the 7th century. These paintings are among the oldest in India and reflect Jain philosophy and lifestyle.
Later, visit Ezhadippattam, a site with stone beds used by Jain monks for meditation. The peaceful hilltop location provides panoramic views and a deeply spiritual ambiance.
