Sammed Shikharji Yatra Tour Package by Vardhman Vacations – 7 Days / 6 Nights, Starting at ₹16,599

Jai Jinendra, and welcome to the Sammed Shikharji Jain Yatra — only with Vardhman Vacations.

If you’ve ever felt a quiet pull toward Shikhar Ji, you already know it isn’t just another trip on the calendar. It’s a calling. Every Jain pilgrim holds Shikhar Ji — officially Sammed Shikharji — as the most sacred ground in the entire faith. It is the place where 20 of the 24 Tirthankaras attained moksha, making it the undisputed Teerthraj, the king of all Teerths.

Vardhman Vacations, serving Jain pilgrims across India since 1990, now brings you a complete 6 Nights / 7 Days Sammed Shikharji Yatra, covering the full sacred circuit — Shikharji, Rujuwalika, Champapuri, Kakandi, Lachhwada, Kshatriyakund, Guniyaji, Pavapuri, Rajgruhi (Rajgir), and Kundalpur — starting at just ₹16,599 per person.

Here’s everything you need to know before you book your seat.

Why Sammed Shikharji Belongs on Every Jain’s Bucket List

Sammed Shikharji rises from the Parasnath Hills of Jharkhand, the highest peak in the state. But its height is the least remarkable thing about it. What makes this mountain extraordinary is what it holds: the liberation points, or tonks, of twenty Tirthankaras and countless enlightened souls. Footprints of all 24 Tirthankaras and 10 Ganadhars are enshrined across the hill, and at its highest point sits the revered Shree Parshwanath Tonk.

You don’t have to be a scholar of Jain philosophy to feel something shift here. First-time pilgrims and lifelong devotees alike describe the pahad yatra as an experience that stays with them long after they’ve come back down.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: Your 7-Day Spiritual Journey

Day 1 — Arrival: Parasnath Railway Station

Your yatra begins the moment you step off the train at Parasnath Railway Station. A Vardhman Vacations representative will be there to greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After lunch, head to Taleti for an evening of darshan on your own — Jahaj Mandir, Kanch Mandir, the on-site Museum, 20 Jinalay, Bhaktamar Mandir, the New and Old Bhumiyaji Mandir, Samvasharan, Digambar Mandir, and Dharam Mangal University. Overnight at your Hotel / Dharamshala.

Day 2 — Shikharji Pahad Yatra: The Heart of the Journey

This is the day the whole yatra builds toward. Wake before dawn and set out at 4:00 AM for the Pahad Yatra — holy baths, rituals, and pooja along the mountain trail. As you climb, you pass tonk after tonk, each one marking a moment of liberation, until you reach the temple of Shree Samaliya Parshwanath, also known as Jal Mandir, near the very top. You’ll return to your Dharamshala or Hotel late in the evening, tired in the body and full in every other way.

Day 3 — Shikharji to Champapuri (Bhagalpur), via Rujuwalika

After breakfast, a short 30-minute drive brings you to Rujuwalika, where Shree Mahavir Swami attained enlightenment — his Kevalgyan Bhumi. From here, it’s roughly a 7-hour journey (with lunch en route) to Champapuri, the Keval Gyan Bhumi of Mahavir Bhagvan and also one of the five Kalyanak Bhumis of Vasupujya Bhagvan. You’ll arrive in time for a Choviar dinner and an overnight halt.

Day 4 — Champapuri to Lachhwada, via Kakandi

Start the day with Navkarsi and morning darshan seva pooja before heading toward Lachhwada. On the way, you’ll stop at Kakandi Tirth — one of those quieter sites that rarely makes it into the brochures but leaves a lasting impression on those who visit. On arrival at Lachhwada, pay your respects at the Mahavir Swami temple before settling in for the night.

Day 5 — Lachhwada to Rajgruhi, via Kshatriyakund, Guniyaji & Pavapuri

Today covers some of the most significant ground in all of Jain tirtha yatra. After breakfast, visit Kshatriyakund for the Pahad Yatra — the birthplace of Shree Mahavir Swami — with holy bath, rituals, and puja, followed by darshan at the Taletima Chhavan on the mountain and at the Diksha Kalyanak site. Return for lunch, then continue roughly 3 hours to Guniyaji, home to Shree Gautam Swami’s Kevalgyan Bhumi. From there, it’s about 1.5 hours by bus to Rajgruhi (Rajgir), with Pavapuri — the site of Lord Mahavira’s nirvana — woven into this sacred stretch of the route.

Day 6 — Rajgruhi to Kundalpur and Back

Early morning brings another Pahad Yatra, this time on the hills of Rajgir. Rajgir spans five to six hills, each with 500–700 steps, and the last one is served by a ropeway leading to a stupa and Jain temple at the summit. Beyond the hills, Rajgir has plenty more to explore: the Virayatan Jain museum, temple and eye hospital, the natural hot water springs, the Munisuvrat Swami Jain temple, a Japanese garden, and a Buddhist temple. After returning for lunch, you’ll head to Kundalpur — believed by many Jains to be the birthplace of Lord Mahavir, the 24th and final Tirthankar, and home to a number of Jain temples, including a recently built main temple. Return to Rajgruhi for the night.

Day 7 — Rajgruhi to Patna Railway Station: Departure

Your last morning is flexible. If time allows, you can add on a visit to the glass bridge, a jungle safari, or the zoo (all at extra cost). Rajgir also offers the Ropeway and Japanese Peace Pagoda (Vishwa Shanti Stupa), the Brahmakund hot springs believed to have healing properties, the 2,500-year-old Cyclopean Wall that once encircled ancient Rajgir, and the Son Bhandar Caves — ancient rock-cut caves linked to Jain monks from the Mauryan era. Afterward, you’ll be transferred to Patna Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying the blessings of a completed yatra with you.
